Array-Grade KREAcot DNA is extracted from human placental DNA and subsequently fragmented, denatured, and re-annealed under conditions that enrich for repetitive DNA sequences (1,2). KREAcot DNA can be used to suppress cross-hybridization to human repetitive DNA sequences. Array-Grade KREAcot DNA has specifically been optimized to be used in array CGH applications. Amounts of KREAcot DNA needed in a microarray experiment should be determined empirically, but will be in the order of 12.5-50 times excess to the amount of labeled genomic DNA. Please visit the Kreatech website (www.kreatech.com) for a detailed protocol for the analysis of genomic DNA using array CGH.
Unique features of Array-Grade KREAcot
- Specifically optimized for use in array CGH applications
- Quality controlled with array CGH analysis
Comparison of performance of KREAcot DNA and human C0t-1 DNA from competitor X.

Array-Grade KREAcot Human C0t-1 DNA competitor X
2log ratio for X chromosome = -0.65 2log ratio for X chromosome = -0.66
Mean absolute deviation for Mean absolute deviation for
chrom 1-22 = 0.05 chrom 1-22 = 0.11
Shown are the chromosome plots obtained from an array CGH hybridization comparing healthy male Cy5-ULS labeled genomic DNA and healthy female Cy3-ULS labeled genomic DNA on BAC microarrays. Although the spread observed for the X-chromosome is comparable for both blockers, the use of KREAcot minimizes the variation observed for chromosomes 1-22.
