This monoclonal antibody binds to MART-1. In normal tissues, expression of MART-1 is found in human and murine melanocyte lineage cells derived from normal skin, uvea, and retina. Other normal tissues, including T cells, B cells, kidney epithelial cells, and fibroblasts, are negative. In tumors, MART-1 is expressed by a large proportion of melanomas, both melanotic and amelanotic, and by melanoma cell lines. The antigen is not detectable in non-melanoma malignancies, including neoplasms of colon, breast, brain, kidney, lung, and bone. 
Immunogen source: MART-1 fusion protein. Positive tissue: Melanoma. Expected staining pattern: Cytoplasmic.
